HOW WE STARTED … www.testpapers.com.sg is started by a group of parents who are very involved in the education of their children. Most of them are busy professionals and have little time to spend on teaching, coaching and preparing their children for their assessment examinations. Like most parents, they found the assessment books available in the market inadequate. They are either too simple or out-dated. WHAT WE DID … The group of parents realised that the best way of preparing for the school assessment examinations is to practise on actual full-length testpapers. So a few of them banded and grouped their resources together, analysed the structure, format, style and level of difficulty and in consultation with educators (MOE teachers and tutors), they created different sets of testpapers for each subject for every assessment period (CA1, SA1, CA2 and SA2). They put their children through those testpapers. Interestingly, most of their children improved their results as they practise on more of the testpapers. The testpapers enable the children to master the processing skills require to excel in their examinations. WHERE ARE WE NOW … We now have a panel of MOE teachers and tutors heavily involved in the process of compiling our testpapers. With the numerous changes in the MOE Syllabuses and testing formats in recent years, it is imperative for us to keep ourselves updated with the changes and model our testpapers to the latest changes announced by the Ministry. WHICH ASSESSMENT MATERIALS TO BUY … It has become an increasingly challenging task for parents in their selections of practising materials for their children. Those who used to purchase the ‘pasar-malam’ testpapers must be very careful, as the materials provided are based on previous years syllabuses and testing formats.
